Eid al-Adha at KAUST
To help you plan for the holiday, please take note of the following updates to services and activities during Eid.
Eid Holiday operating hours
During the Eid break, some facilities and services will operate on adjusted schedules, including KAUST Health, transportation, restaurants, retail outlets, pet services and more. See below for details.
Food and retail
- Campus Diner will operate during the Eid break with regular operating hours.
- Some food and retail outlets along the University Spine will be closed during the holiday.
We encourage you to check the Food and Retail pages for the most up-to-date hours.
KAUST Health
- Emergency Services (911) and the Emergency Department will remain open 24/7.
- The KAUST Health Clinic and the Family and Child Support Center (FCSC) will be closed from 26 May 2026 and will reopen on 31 May 2026.
Transportation
- Color-coded bus routes will not be available during the holiday period.
- On-demand buses will operate daily from Sunday, May 24 to Thursday, May 28, 2026, from 6:30 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.
- There will be no work haul, Makkah, Madinah, or Jeddah medical buses operating during the Eid holiday.
Airport shuttle
Complimentary airport shuttle buses to Terminal 1 will be available from Thursday, May 21 to Saturday, May 23, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight. Learn More
Travel services
- Kanoo Leisure Travel Office will be closed during the Eid break, from Thursday May 21 to Sunday, May 31.
- Alma Travel office, office will be open 24/7.
- Corporate travel services will remain available 24/7 and can be reached at travel.kanoo@kaust.edu.sa and/or travel.alma@kaust.edu.sa
Pet services
- Al-Hamra Pet Retreat Center will be closed during Eid break from May 26 to May 31 and will reopen on June 1, 2026.
- Pet boarding services will remain open 24/7 throughout the holiday, for emergencies, please call 054 451 5540
Recreation
Several recreation spaces will offer special opening hours during Eid.
- Bowling Alley: will open on Sunday, May 24, from 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.:
- Climbing Wall: will open on Monday, May 25, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
