Be one of the first 50 community members to participate in the Eco-Cart Rental pilot program. This pilot program, sponsored by the KAUST Sustainability Committee, is seeking to introduce a green and safe transportation option for our community this spring. The first 50 registrants will receive their eco-cart at the end of April.
Available in five colors, these eco-carts will cost 500 SAR per month, are street legal and fitted with four seat belts. They also include a flip-up back seat that can accommodate cargo, bags of groceries (in reusable bags, not plastic), school equipment, sporting equipment, etc.
Registration will open at 9:00 a.m. today, Sunday, March 1 via the Transportation Eco-Cart website with carts assigned on a first come, first served basis. Please note there are only ten carts of each color available so ensure you prioritize your color preference when you register.

The “click here to register” doesn’t work, as of now.
Yes, just work 7 minutes later. Thank you!
Registration website doesn’t work for me
Please try the link now – it should be active.
Hi – When I click the link it asks for a username and password? Any advice on this?
The link is not working in the Safari browser. Mac users should try firefox instead.
P.S. Disregard my comment above – I just reread the info and I believe the offer is only open for faculty, staff, and students.
Hi Ida – Since the rental fee is deducted directly from the KAUST salary, I believe the employee needs to register for the eco-cart on behalf of the family.
Hi Michelle – OK – thank you!
Registration doesn’t seem to be working for me either. System will not accept my credentials :/
Oops! Never mind! Helps to type in the right credentials! 😉
I am wondering if i need to have driving license for that or not?
Dear Najwa,
Please refer to KAUST traffic policy as per the below link

Hi, thanks for getting this program started. I have a couple of questions –
1. Is there the possibility of eventually making carts available to purchase instead of lease?
2. I heard through the grapevine that an overwhelming number of applications were received for the eco-carts. Any chance that the number available in April will be increased?
Again, thank you to those involved in getting this up and running!
Dear Aimee,
Please find the answers below:
1) As you know we have just started with this program, a final evaluation will be reported to KAUST management once it reflect with a positive experience.
2) The owners of this program are aware of the demand so I believe they will do the necessary based on the final numbers.
Regards,
Saif AlKatheri
