X-ray Fluorescence Spectroscopy Training Course

The Analytical Core Lab is offering a basic training course on the use and application of X-ray Fluorescence spectroscopy (XRF). The goal of this training is to provide the attendees with basic principles of X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy. Participants will be introduced to the background and practice of XRF analysis as well as practical considerations and applications.

  • The basic principles of X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy
  • Hardware and software features
  • Introduction to XGT software
  • Sample preparation for solids, powder, and liquid
  • How to correctly mount samples in sampler holder
  • Focusing your sample using motorized XYZ stage
  • Mounting and dismounting vacuum chamber
  • Qualitative analysis using auto ID
  • Quantitative analysis using fundamental parameter analysis
  • How to safely replenish liquid Nitrogen
