World Water Day is held on March 22 each year to focus attention on how important fresh water is and to advocate for sustainable water management.
On this day, people all around the world participate in awareness-raising celebrations and events about water conservation and management.
Plan to join the Health, Safety, & Environment Office for Community Open Day at the Drinking Water Plant (Sea Water Reverse Osmosis Plant) on Thursday,
March 21 at 10:30 a.m. or 1:00 p.m.
This public event is a great opportunity for the community to:
- See first-hand how KAUST’s high quality drinking water is produced and how its high standard of quality is maintained.
- Attend brief presentations about water conservation.

Bus transportation (pick up and drop off) will be provided from the main Tamimi supermarket to the Sea Water Reverse Osmosis plant. All safety gear needed for the visit will be provided at the plant.
