What is an SDG?

Fine arts, cricket, cycling, photography, and rugby…these are just a few of the current Self-Directed Groups or SDGs we have at KAUST.

SDGs serve to encourage, promote, and sponsor recreational and educational activities, special events, and entertainment programs for the benefit of its members and the KAUST community. These groups are volunteer-led and are a great way to meet other people in the community who share similar interests.

There are currently twelve groups and two more in the process of forming. To learn about or to join an SDG, visit the SDG page on the GetActive website.

If you would like to find out how to start a new SDG, please email recreation@kaust.edu.sa.

Dear Tushar,
You are correct that SDGs are not an event. This was categorized as a “community event” as many SDGs host community events. If you are looking for things happening in the community, I suggest you visit the SDG page to see if there are any SDGs that interest you, as several are very active and host even weekly events.
