Meet with world-class international and in-Kingdom scientists, entrepreneurs and artists to discuss the future of medicine and participate in workshops, cultural events, well-being activities, exhibitions, and much more. WEP will be two weeks of 100+ events and 80+ speakers at KAUST.
WEP 2020 will return from January 12 to 23, 2020 under the theme “Personalized Medicine.” WEP is chaired by KAUST Professor Niveen M. Khashab (PSE) and co-chaired by Professor Khaled Nabil Salama (CEMSE).

Opening day
Join us on Sunday, January 12 at 2:00 p.m. to celebrate the start of WEP 2020. Dr. Tony Chan, our President, will open this event, followed by an address by our Vice President for Research, Prof. Donal Bradley, and three opening keynote lectures delivered by world-class leaders. After the opening ceremony, you are invited to visit the Global Health Med Tech exhibition featuring over 20 start-ups and industries.
Keynote Lecture Series
The signature event will take place daily at lunch-time from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. and in the evening from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium (building 20).
The discussions will focus on chemistry and biochemistry, drug delivery, AI in health, sensors and devices, nanotechnology, industry innovation, bioengineering, health and policy management, and biomedical ethics to deepen your technical knowledge and challenge your critical thinking.
