Rapidly building a system as complex as Second Life with a distributed team required a different approach to startup entrepreneurship. The emerging society of the virtual world also challenged assumptions about human interactions, and highlighted the limits of what we can do together online.
In starting Coffee & Power, Philip and his co-founders immersed themselves in the nomadic world of San Francisco’s cafe and co-working scene, and built a new approach to distributed development and community based on their findings. Philip Rosedale will discuss these and other topics around company building in his lecture.
