Registration for the Winter Enrichment Program (WEP) 2017 is now open. To register for events, please visit enrichment.kaust.edu.sa.

Chaired by Gilles Lubineau, professor of mechanical engineering in the Physical Science and Engineering Division, this year’s WEP will bring you 14 enthralling days of unique educational experiences exploring the theme of “Pushing the Limits: Challenging Engineering and Science.” With more than 80 events during WEP 2017, there is something for everyone.

Students and postdoctoral fellows, don’t forget to register for the WEP poster competition. TKS students, graduate students and scientists, register to participate in the Science Fair and showcase your science at KAUST.

Who can register to WEP events?

Everyone at KAUST can register. Go to the Enrichment website enrichment.kaust.edu.sa and click on “Sign in.”

If you are a KAUST student, faculty member, or staff member (PTSA included), sign up using your KAUST login details.

If you are a KAUST community member or KICP member, use your KAUST ID to sign up.

If you have children under the age of 12, you can sign up for them by using the “Register Dependents” option on your profile page.

What kind of events are on offer during WEP 2017?

From exceptional evening keynotes by top leaders from around the world to lunchtime lectures that cover a variety of topics to courses, workshops, performances and other special events, WEP 2017 offers something for all KAUST community members.

Make sure you don’t miss the opening keynote lecture “Out of the Desert: My Journey from Nomadic Bedouin to the Heart of Global Oil” by His Excellency Ali Al-Naimi, on Sunday, January 8 at 4:00 p.m. in the Auditorium (bldg. 20).

Will there be any community-oriented events during WEP?

Prepared to be wowed by our variety of cultural events: build “Strandbeests” with Dutch artist Theo Jansen; visit Old Jeddah and the Jeddah Historic Festival; attend the “Improvisation and Origami” workshops, the WEP Final Gala and the Farmers Market.

Get excited by our exhibits “Discover Saudi Arabia;” “KAUST, an Oasis for Birds;” a Chinese painting and calligraphy installation and many more hands-on activities that will take place at the WEP Hub in the University Library.

Registration is now open until Tuesday, December 20. 

Need some help?

The Enrichment team will be providing you with information about WEP 2017 along with helping you to register starting from Wednesday, November 16. Meet with the WEP team at the University Library (next to the coffee shop) every Monday and Wednesday from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. The first 50 visitors will get a free gift.
