Upcoming ACL Training Courses

The Analytical Core Lab (ACL) is offering training courses over the next several weeks in specialized areas:

Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC)
Monday and Tuesday, October 22-23

Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC) is one of the most widely employed techniques for characterizing macromolecules. This short course will focus on the use of GPC for the determination of molecular weight distributions of polymers.

Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-OES)
Monday and Tuesday, November 5-6

ICP-OES is a very effective analytical technique used for the determination of trace metals at very low concentration levels. This two-day course will offer basic understanding of ICP-OES technique and its applications.

X-Ray Fluorescence Spectroscopy (XRF)
Saturday, November 17

The goal of this training is to provide the attendees with basic principles of x-ray fluorescence spectroscopy. Participants will be introduced to the background and practice of XRF analysis as well as practical considerations and applications.

Each of the above courses begin at 9:00 a.m. and will be held at Ibn Sina Building (building 3), level 3, room 3320. Visit acl.kaust.edu.sa for more details or to register.
