The app is a good idea, but at first glance, something can be improved.
1) trying to add a home location is not very intuitive. Being a KAUST app, it should adapt to the reality of KAUST where our home addresses are simply indicated by the house number. This should be made our default way to indicate our houses or as an alternative an intuitive option to add the home-location based on the current GPS location.
2) the time-window of only 1 week for booking is too limited. From experience, at times of high demand, taxis need to be booked at least 2 weeks in advance.

Dear Gaetano,
Thank you for your feedback, The KAUST ride Application is using the generic google map which relays on the Saudi National Home Address convention. We are carefully exploring options of using other maps that understand the KAUST house numbering convention and without compromising the addresses/destinations’ data outside the KAUST campus.
Regarding the timeline window for booking, we have increased it to 180 days.
We welcome further feedback – please use the feedback function in the app so we can take your feedback into account.

I try to add my house number for pick up. It shows the number, but the street or address is somewhere else. Is it okay to use those addresses?

Community Life November 15, 2020 - 4:04 pm

Dear Yupa,
Yes, you can save the home address as the location. Once you save it, it will appear on the home icon. So it can automatically be the pick-up or the drop off location. Also, you can put the unit number on the text while booking.
