The format of the competition followed the popular cooking show “Top Chef.” Competitors had 10 minutes to choose from a range of ingredients and then an additional 30 minutes to create dishes and present them to the judges. Dishes were judged on four dimensions—the use of healthy ingredients, taste, presentation and minimum food waste.

Social Responsibility is able to draw on its knowledge of Thuwal and the surrounding areas to encourage and coordinate participation by our neighbors in events like these, thereby extending the range of community engagement activities and programs that the department organizes throughout the year.
