The Macro Impact of Nanoscale Workshop

KAUST Imaging & Characterization Core Lab presents:
The macro impact of nanoscale
2nd “Frontiers of Electron Microsopy” workshop

Wednesday, November 21, 2018
10:30 a.m. – 4:50 p.m.
Auditorium 215 (between bldg. 2-3, level 0)

The KAUST Imaging & Characterization Core Laboratory (IAC) is pleased to invite you to their second workshop on the frontiers of electron microscopy (EM). Attendees will learn about recent developments on the use of EM for studying materials at nanoscale and their behavior at macroscale. Speakers will discuss current trends in the physical and life science and how imaging at (near) atomic resolution benefits a wide range of applications. A broad spectrum of future possibilities will also be addressed, such as applying machine learning techniques on EM.

KAUST researchers will share their pioneering invention published in Science, that enables imaging of easily damaged materials at atomic scale, allowing the IAC to remain at the forefront of the EM field.

KAUST faculty and industry partners will present novel developments in cryo-EM, the 2017 Nobel Prize in Chemistry winner, for structural biology research.
All KAUST researchers, students and staff are warmly welcomed to join the event.

Seats are limited, therefore please register and find the event agenda here.

For more information, please contact iac.em@kaust.edu.sa.
This opportunity is brought to you by the KAUST Core Labs.
