Thank You For Taking Part

The communications team would like to thank everyone who gave of their time to complete the communications survey.

Over 650 community members, faculty, staff, and students logged on and answered our survey questions. Better still, many of you also took the time to include detailed comments and suggestions, which we are still busy reading through.

All of the data is being used to improve how we communicate to the university community. In the coming months we hope to give you more control over the content you receive when you subscribe to The Lens. And we will use your suggestions to make the information you receive via email, on KAUST TV, and through the campus LED screens more targeted and more helpful.

From all of us on the communications team,

Thank you!

It would be great if you could share more information about the trends in information you received. I think the community would love to hear what’s working and what you plan to improve. You outlined a few items above, but a bit more depth on each of these topics and the other results from the survey would be interesting and likely useful for community members to understand.

We plan to do that once we have spent more time analyzing what the data tells us.

However, some of the immediate information provided by the survey shows that according to the 663 responses, the top three ways people get information about what is happening at KAUST include The Lens, KAUST email announcements and word-of-mouth.

Also, about 50% of respondents indicated they feel they are informed about events and activities happening at KAUST.

One of the things we hope to do is conduct another survey in maybe a year’s time and track any improvements – we would love for the responses to indicate at least 80% of our community feeling they are informed of what’s happening at KAUST!

Thanks for your reply Michelle!

That is some really useful information – it’s helpful to know the top information channels and how informed people feel. My sense is that these statistics are spot on.

What a great idea to track sentiment and create benchmarks. This is a great way to measure your success.

Thank you for setting the example of transparency here. It’s great to see.
