As part of our enriching mission, during the 2018 Enrichment in the Spring Program we encouraged you to participate, engage and be creative throughout the week. You got a chance to put your design skills to the test for the Design Thinking masterclass contest, test your knowledge throughsustainability board games and take part in ePoster and Twitter competitions.

In partnership with the KAUST Sustainability Office, MARCOM and the University Library, the contests and raffles were open to the KAUST Community while the Twitter competition was open to the entire world. Below is the list of all the winners of the 2018 Enrichment in the Spring contests and raffles. Thank you for taking part!



KAUST’s favorite urban city block is…

100 people voted for their favorite urban city block designed at the Design Thinking Masterclass.
Congratulations to Cristina Andres Barrao, Ionela-Daniela Carja, Katia C. Ruiz, Julia Eichmann, and Stephanie Saade, for winning the people’s choice design.


Congratulations to the winners of the ePoster Competition

Posters were submitted by the KAUST research community, where two competitions closed at the end of the Enrichment in the Spring program on Thursday, May 3 2018. The ePoster competition was run in collaboration with the University Library. The posters are available to view here.

Who won the electric bicycle?

Congratulations to Marcela Herrera! To celebrate sustainability at KAUST, this year we collaborated with KAUST Sustainability Office to test your knowledge through sustainability board games. Participants entered a raffle for a chance to win an electric bicycle.

#SEP2018 Twitter Competition

For the first time, KAUST ran a twitter competition in English and Arabic. We asked the question What invention or new technology do you think would be essential for a city of the future and why? for a chance to win an Apple watch. The English winner is from KAUST and the Arabic winner from the Kingdom:
