The Saudi Research Science Institute (SRSI) 2012 is excited to extend an open invitation to the KAUST community to the Poster Symposium and Mentor Appreciation Event which will be held at the University Library today, July 10th 2012, from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m.
The SRSI is a mentorship program for academically gifted Saudi High School Students, who spend six weeks of their summer break living and researching at KAUST. The poster symposium is an exhibition of the projects the students are pursuing with their KAUST faculty mentors and includes: “Cloning and Expression of Fluorescent Proteins”, “Smart Shoe with Embedded Radar for Landmine Detection in Battlefields”, and “Preparation of Polymeric Membranes for Ultrafiltration and Desalination”.
The SRSI students are truly an inspirational group of young Saudi people and this is a great opportunity to meet them and see their enthusiasm for research, learning and change.
The Poster Symposium will be followed by a Mentor Appreciation Event where KAUST faculty members will be thanked for their generous mentorship at SRSI 2012.
