SPE student chapter visits refinery

The KAUST student chapter of SPE (Society of Petroleum Engineers) recently visited the Jeddah Refinery Department (JRD) on Thursday, November 24 and learned more about Saudi Aramco history, JRD technologies and operations, as well as the company’s Accelerated Transformation Program (ATP).

KAUST participants had the unique opportunity for an up-close view of the refinery facilities and operations, including the main command center which controls the process parameters of hydrocarbons.

The trip was organized by JRD (Ahmed Mugharbel and Mazin Najjar), the SPE Young Professionals & Student Outreach team (Alaa Bakoben) and the KAUST SPE student chapter (Klemens Katterbauer).
