Sing in an Arabic Concert

Learn and perform some classical Arabic melodies, harmonized and arranged for full chorus.

Singing will be in Arabic; prior knowledge of Arabic is not required. Experience in choral singing is recommended.

Dr. John Perkins, Assistant Professor of Choral Music at the American University of Sharjah, and Dr. Imed Nsiri, Assistant Professor of Arabic and Translation Studies at the American University of Sharjah, will coach singers (soprano, alto, tenor, and baritone/bass) over three consecutive weekends on traditional Arabic songs like “Tala’a al badru alayna,” “Tallou hbabna”, and more.
