The KAUST Sharks who qualified for the Nation’s Finals in swimming traveled to Dhahran for the National Swim Meet on May 3 and 4.
23 teams and 385 swimmers participated in the competition and The KAUST Sharks team ranked 12 in the medals table and brought back 16 medals home. GO SHARKS!
The team – Yuqiao Nie (Boys 7-8), Matthew Lapenok (Boys 7-8), Dylan Xu (Boys 9-10), Joumana Elbaz (Girls 7-8) and Natasha Ford (Girls 15-16) managed to rack up five gold, 10 silver and one bronze medals between them. By the end of the tournament, Joumana Elbaz ranked #5 in the Girls 7-8 category and Natasha Ford ranked #2 in the Girls 15-16 category.
Well done to the group… what great ambassadors for swimming in the Kingdom and for KAUST!
