Congratulations to Sherry Shilling, from the Advanced Membranes and Porous Materials Research Center, who was awarded an iPad for her idea to enhance the experience of new hires and streamline the process of providing them with their login account, access, space allocation, and IT equipment. Sherry’s idea is to replace the current method of having to fill in several forms for different department’s tasks with a single, more efficient end to end process.
Once this is implemented, it will eliminate a lot of manual work and reduce the amount of administrative burden on the business department’s side. It will also help improve the timeliness of the services and accuracy of records. New KAUST members will experience a smoother, more welcoming, and more productive start.
This idea will be put in action from automation and process perspectives, utilizing the Lean Six Sigma methodology. This will be done in consensus with all the business departments involved.
