“A Midsummer Night’s Dream” has long been one of the most popular of Shakespeare’s plays and Boxtree Productions have created a modern English version without the Shakespearean text.
They are presenting a unique opportunity to join a new cast in a dream world of feuding fairies, secrets, romance and mistaken identities.
Shakespeare’s greatest comedy plunges its audience in to the heart of an enchanted forest—a place of change and infinite possibility—when four close friends escape the decorum of the royal courts, eluding tradition and etiquette on one fateful, night in the Athenian woods. The challenge in the play is to follow closely the complexities of romance as Lysander loves Hermia and Hermia loves Lysander. Helena loves Demetrius; Demetrius used to love Helena but now loves Hermia!
As the human and magical worlds collide, mischief and chaos erupt as love at first sight proves a reality for some and transforms another into a donkey!
