Saudi Founding Day Celebration 2024

Get ready for an amazing celebration of Saudi culture, food, and art on Thursday, February 22. We are delighted to be able to host the Saudi Founding Day celebration in Thuwal Corniche this year and share our celebrations with the wider local community. 

We invite everyone to join us to celebrate the Kingdom’s history and culture this Saudi Founding Day. 

Event details  

Date: Thursday, February 22 
Time: 5:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.

A variety of activities and entertainment has been prepared for you and your family, including:  

• Saudi Coffee, dates and local delicacies 
• DJ, bands 
• Al-Aradah traditional dance 
• Kid’s corner with games, arts and crafts 
• Face painting and henna station 
• Food trucks and traditional snacks for sale 
• Falcon show 

Artisan Show and Traditional Bazaar 

Immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage of Saudi Arabia as traditional artisans demonstrate their skills in looming, weaving, woodcraft, pottery, and other crafts at their respective booths.  

A variety of handcrafted items made by local artisans and gifts will be available at the Traditional Bazaar. 

Event transportation 

 Shuttle buses have been arranged for the event transportation to and from Thuwal. 

• From Tamimi parking lot to Thuwal Corniche 
  4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. 
  Every 15 minutes    

• From Thuwal Corniche to Tamimi parking lot 
  8:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. 
  Every 15 minutes  

Note:  

• All passengers must present their KAUST photo ID to enter the bus. 
• Children under 16 years are not allowed to take the bus without a guardian. 
• The bus only stops at designated pick up and drop off points.   

This year’s celebration is organized by KAUST’s Community Life, Government Affairs and Strategic National Advancement departments with support from Modern Architecture Contracting Company (MACC).
