Sanger sequencing updates, explanatory sessions and webinar

The Bioscience Core Lab (BCL) will be updating their Sanger sequencing service to enhance your experience and streamline the process. These updates will bring changes to the sample submission requirements and the introduction of a new web tool called the Sanger Data Viewer (SDV) for convenient downloading of your sequencing results.

To ensure a smooth transition and provide you with all the necessary information, they are launching the new Sanger website. This website will serve as a comprehensive resource hub where you can find valuable information to achieve successful Sanger sequencing results. It will include user guides for sample preparation and troubleshooting, along with the latest updates on the changes in the Sanger service and their respective starting dates. We encourage you to visit the website regularly to stay informed once it is live.

These updates to the Sanger workflow have been designed to improve the efficiency of their sequencing service. They will reduce sample processing time, decrease turnaround time, eliminate the need for any unnecessary repetition and improve results troubleshooting.

For new Sanger users, a comprehensive Webinar on the full sequencing process will be held tomorrow, Wednesday, January 17 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. During the webinar, they will delve into the Sanger sequencing workflow in detail, covering topics such as DNA template preparation and purification, sample preparation and submission requirements, cycle sequencing, capillary electrophoresis, results analysis and troubleshooting.

To provide guidance on the new workflow, BCL is hosting an online session next Sunday, January 21 for current Sanger users from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. (calendar invite)
