Il Villagio is *always* “about to open”. I hope this time it’s for real.

I don’t understand why we are bringing another fast food pizza place, another fast food sandwich place, and another fast food burger place. Instead of duplicating, why not follow KAEC’s lead and bring in something with different cuisine, like Yalla Walla3ha (Mexican)?

Kudu my best restaurant 🙂

Dear David

Thank you for taking the time to reply to our Retail Update post, we appreciate all comments both good and bad.

Currently a restaurant Food Plaza is being planned that will include Mexican, Lebanese, Arabic/Iranian and Healthy Choice restaurants as well as a high-end bakery. As soon as we have further information we will let the community know.

Once again, thank you for taking the time to reply to our announcement.

Hi Omar, can you give more information about this food plaza? Would it be in the square or elsewhere? Also, I strongly support the healthy choice restaurants you mentioned! Very exciting 🙂

Dear Alaa

Thank you for taking the time to comment and for your great enthusiasm. The food plaza will be located along the Harbor Walk; at the present time we cannot confirm any further details but do keep an eye on The Lens and the monthly F&C Focus magazine for future updates.

Dear Mr. Omar,

Will we have the chance to see anytime soon non-food retailers? Apart from restaurants and tamimi we have no alternative…thank you.

Dear Jana

Thank you for your question regarding non-food retailers here at KAUST. There is a master plan for non-food based retailers at KAUST but at present no contracts have been signed. Once more information is available we will share the news with Community.

Again, thank you for taking the time to respond to this post.

Regards
Omar

Hi Mr Omar

When will we have other restaurants mentioned in the announcement?

Omar Al-Omar May 24, 2015 - 8:52 am

Dear Ahfaz

Thank you for taking the time to respond to this announcement. Retail will provide the community with an update once definitive opening dates are agreed with the retailers.

Omar

I just wanted to follow up on my earlier, somewhat pessimistic post to say, kudos to the facilities team for getting Il Villagio here (*almost* for a February opening, as promised). It was worth the wait. I hope we can look forward to more healthy, affordable, high-quality restaurant options like it.
