Requirements for Pet Owners at KAUST

Registration and pet IDs are now mandatory for all pets at KAUST. The University’s newly formed (and recently re-named) Safaa Kennel and Veterinary Association is updating and formalizing the pet registration and identification process. Due to the increasing population of stray animals on campus, the registration and tagging of pets will ensure that your lost pet is not treated as a stray.

All cat and dog owners should provide the requested information, even if they have already registered via the old system. This new registration will help safeguard your pet.

Pet Lifetime Registration

Pet owners are required to register or re-register their animal via the new Pet Lifetime Registration. Registering their pet will ensure they receive assistance if the animal is lost and will provide necessary information for improving the facilities on campus. All registration data will be kept in a secure location and will be maintained by SKVA. By registering their animal, pet owners will have the option to be added to the SKVA email list, to be notified of upcoming events, and other pet-related announcements.

Click here to download and submit the Lifetime Registration Form for pets. Alternatively, you can visit the Community Information Center at Discovery Square to request and submit the Pet Lifetime Registration form.

Pet Identification Tags

Tagging is another way to safeguard pets from being treated as stray animals. Pet owners should ensure the pet tag is clearly marked with either their villa number or phone number.
A limited quantity of pet ID tags for dogs are available for purchase at the Community Information Center at Discovery Square. Tags are 20 SR each. Pet ID tags for cats should be available soon. Collars in various sizes for both cats and dogs are available for purchase at Tamimi Supermarket.

The deadline for community members to register and ID their pets is: March 31, 2013.

Thank you for taking the time to register and tag your pet. If you have any questions or comments, or to submit your form, email safaakennels@kaust.edu.sa.
