Red Sea Research Center KAUST Research Workshop: Blue Carbon – the role of coastal ecosystems in climate change mitigation and adaptation
March 20 – 21, 2017
This workshop is a forum to discuss the progress in the scientific underpinnings of Blue Carbon, referring to the strategies to mitigate and adapt to climate change through the conservation and restoration of seagrass, mangroves, salt-marshes and seaweed.
This workshop will allow sharing of experience in the region, and scoping a collaborative program across GCC and PERSGA nations, including contributions from industry. The workshop is co-sponsored by Saudi ARAMCO, which is supporting the first industry-led Blue Carbon project in the world.
