The Era of Artificial Intelligence by Dr. Kai-Fu Lee
Sunday, October 21, 2018 at 3:30 p.m.
Auditorium (bldg. 20)
Dr. Lee will talk about the four waves of Artificial Intelligence (AI), and how AI will permeate every part of our lives in the next decade. He will also discuss how this will be different from previous technology revolutions in that it will be faster and driven by not one superpower, but two—China and the U.S. AI will add $16 trillion to global GDP, but will also create many challenges that will be hard to solve. He will also talk, in particular, about AI replacing routine jobs—the consequences, the proposed solutions that don’t work (such as UBI), and end with a blueprint of human-AI coexistence.
