As we prepare to welcome the rainy season shortly, we ask our residents to check the drains in the balcony areas of their units. Drains are important parts of a balcony system that require regular maintenance. A critical yet easy upkeep task is to keep drains working properly by regularly cleaning balcony surfaces to remove any dirt or debris for example leaves and twigs. This will ensure that drains are free-flowing and do not clog.
We request community members perform a balcony drain test to check drainage holes by pouring a bucket of water down their balcony drain. If the water poured does not drain, or you are unsure as to whether your balcony is adequately draining please contact the helpdesk team by dialing 012 808 0959 or send email to fchelpdesk@kaust.edu.sa. It is also important to ensure that floor drains are not covered with objects such as carpets, plant pots or other items that will slow or stop water from flowing.
We thank you for your cooperation.
