Prepare for the Rainy Season, Do a Balcony Drain Test

As we prepare to welcome a rainy season soon, we ask our residents to check the drains in the balcony areas for their units. Drains are important parts of a balcony system that require regular maintenance. A critical yet easy upkeep task is to keep drains working properly by regularly cleaning balcony surfaces to remove any dirt or debris for example; leaves and twigs. This will ensure that drains are free-flowing and do not clog.

We request community members to perform a balcony drain test to check drainage holes by pouring a bucket of water down all their balcony drains.

If the poured water does not flow down through the drain, or you are unsure whether your balcony is adequately draining please contact the FM Call Center team by dialing 012-808-0959 or email fmcallcenter@kaust.edu.sa.

It is also important to ensure that the floor drains are not covered with objects such as carpets, plant pots or other items that will slow or stop water from flowing.

We thank you for your cooperation.
