By Kamran Elahian, Philanthropist and tech entrepreneur
Philanthropist and Venture Capitalist Kamran Elahian is a self-proclaimed “Innovation Catalyst” who advises governments on the needed transition from fossil-based to sustainable innovation economies. In his talk “iTechpreneurship: Creating Chaos to Avoid Chaos” Kamran will focus on Saudi Arabia’s shifting move towards a knowledge-based economy.
As a global, hi-tech entrepreneur, Kamran has co-founded ten companies, produced 6 exits – with 3 of them unicorn IPOs – for a total market cap of over $8 billion USD. As a VC, Kamran co-founded Global Catalyst Partners with over $350 million under management.
His vision is that modern Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) can be instrumental in dissolving barriers between nations and bridging social and political differences. This vision is reflected in his philanthropy, founding Schools-Online in 1996, the Global Catalyst Foundation in 2000, and as Chairman of UN-GAID from 2009 to 2011.
