  • Build your own TV experience: Grow your channel list by subscribing to the latest packages that suit your viewing preferences beyond the basic package that includes 180+ channels.
  • Exciting new features to enhance your TV experience: Multi audio/subtitle language capability; build your favorite list; experience category-based browsing; browse the electronic programming guide, among others.
  • Smart up your TV: Applications such as Netflix, YouTube and OSN Go are available for installation on the STB.

Thanks for the info. Couple of quick questions:
1. Where do we take our old receivers that no longer work…I assume we have in place a plan for recycling?
2. As the old receivers were listed as part of the housing package, are records being updated so that people don’t need to worry about the fact they turned the old ones in for recycling?

Hi Derek,

Yes, you can return the old receivers to the TV store in campus (Bldg 4) and there will be no liability as the old receivers (black ones) has been removed from housing package records.

1) the minimum monthly lease period is 6 months; this is not what I understood from the information shared in the announcements like this (it only said monthly lease for SR50 pm), as I was told today when I went to speak with the Selevision representative ! 🙁
2) Question : if we purchase the new STB from the Selevision store – can we sell it on to another community member (will it work okay) or do we have to give it back to Selevision ?
3) Question: When we lease/buy the new STB – I believe we will have the same channels as now (eg 83, 105, 106, 129, 48, 404, 401) to which we currently have free access. Only if we subscribe(pay) then we will have access to those channels/movies.

I will appreciate your response/clarification. Thank you Erica

Hi Erica,

Thanks for your valuable questions, please see the answers as follows:

1) A total amount of the STB is 560 SAR, which can break down in a lease for 12 months (50 SAR for 11 months and 10 SAR for the last one). Sorry for the misunderstanding that you faced in TV shop, however, all of Selevision representatives have been informed again with the lease procedure.

2) Once you buy the STB, it will be completely yours and you will have the right to sell it or take it with you at any time.

3) All Free-to-Air channels currently in old STBs will be available in the new one without a subscription. However, the newly added channels will be subject to the availability of the source and community selection. While the paid channels are offered in packages and require a subscription.

I hope this is help

Thank you Khalid…. yes helpful, but just more clarification on 1)… so basically we have to buy the STB, either once off or monthly over 12 months installments, but we have to pay SR560 which every way. Could you contact me please erica.gething@kaust.edu.sa (I have another question). Shukran
