Dear Omar,

What is the rational of changing the bus to Makkah on Friday to 13:30?

Saif AlKatheri April 17, 2017 - 6:27 pm

Dear Talha,

Transportation was running the Makkah buses on Friday’s at 13:30 for many years, once the timing has been modified to morning because of some resident requests, we have realized that the number has decreased by more than 30% and waste many seats, for that we have returned back as usual.

Saif AlKatheri

Dear Saif,
Was this change a strong need from the community/student side?

Saif AlKatheri April 17, 2017 - 6:34 pm

Dear Mustakeem,

There is no need for strong changes as we are in good condition and cover most the community/students’ needs, it is an improvement to the current operation which might impact many of KAUST residents.

Regards,

Saif AlKatheri

Is it possible to add a booking option for community member to book a one way journey from a location in Jeddah coming back to KAUST.

This is to enable community members to travel out to one location and return from a different location.

For example travel out to International Market and return from Mall of Arabia.

The current system only allows booking 1 way out from KAUST or return round trip. If someone booked a return trip but just to use the return leg, they will find the booking have been cancelled due to the outbound leg of the journey have not been used.

Dear Omar/Saif,

Friday 8 AM Makkah service was by far the best option to visit the Holy Mosque and offer Jumma prayer there. Please consider it carefully, you may want to conduct a survey before making these changes.
