NeurIPS comes to KAUST!

December 10-12, 2019
Auditorium 0215, between bldg. 2 and 3

The Machine Learning (ML) Hub is excited to be hosting a NeurIPS Meetup at KAUST this year. Join us to find out what’s all the rage in ML while you enjoy slices of pizza.

This year Neural Information Processing Systems (NeurIPS), a major international machine learning conference, has introduced NeurIPS Meetups as part of an initiative intended to build a remote presence for NeurIPS.

A NeurIPS Meetup is a local event hosted during the NeurIPS conference, leveraging conference videos, and live local content, with a duration ranging from a few hours to a full week, and bringing together either participants from a single institution (a company or a university) or the public.

The NeurIPS Meetup @ KAUST event will take place on December 10-12, 2019 in Auditorium 0215 between Bldg. 2 and 3. Timing chosen to overlap with the main conference happening at the same time in Vancouver, Canada. See the schedule details below.

Registration is free but required.

The meetup will live stream three keynotes being delivered at the conference in Vancouver.

David Pugh from KVL will give a tutorial: Introduction to Deep Learning with PyTorch.

The meetup will feature a student workshop, where KAUST students will showcase their latest research results. If you wish to give a talk at the workshop, submit your proposal to the student workshop chairs (to be announced on the meetup webpage).

Finally, the meetup will have a distributed deep learning clinic. Does training take too long? Do you need to scale your DNN training to multiple workers/GPU and need help with it? KAUST experts in distributed deep learning will assist you with advice, tips and best practices.
