Having a healthy lifestyle and taking care of both your physical and mental health, eating healthily, exercising regularly and taking timeout are all important to maintaining high performance. But participating in regular screening and checkup programs can help to monitor and provide early identified information which can also be important to maintain your health.
Therefore, KAUST Health is organizing Men’s Health Awareness Week between February 5 to 9 to encourage early detection and treatment of health problems and promote the benefits of healthy choices. Men’s Health Awareness Week will support male community members in planning and achieving improved health and wellbeing goals through Men’s Health booths in the community and a dedicated Men’s Health Clinic at KAUST Health.
Men’s Health booths:
- Dates: February 5 – 9
- Eligibility: Men aged 18 years old and over.
- Venues and times:
- Diner: February 5, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
- IRC: February 6, 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
- Harbor: February 7, 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
- Campus Library: February 8, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
- Discovery Square: February 9, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Community members who visit the booths can check their blood pressure and sugar levels. They will also be provided with health education and screening advice for examination and tests, based on their age and family health history.
Men’s Health Clinic:
- Date: February 5 – 9
- Eligibility: Men aged 18 years old and over.
- Venue: KAUST Health Family Medicine Department
- Duration: Each appointment will be for 30 minutes.
- 26 SAR administration fee is waived.
- No-show policy will be applied. Therefore, please remember to attend or cancel your appointment. This enables other patients the opportunity to use the appointment slot if you cannot make it.
Dedicated Men’s Health Clinics by our Family Medicine Physicians will provide the following:
- Full body check-up including vital sign and a physical exam as required
- Discussion on relevant age-specific screening requirements and health-related topics
- Clinically indicated tests and investigations for various health indicators
You may be advised to do a fasting blood test as part of this clinic. If you would like to do this on the same day, please ensure you’ve been fasting for at least 10 hours ahead of your appointment.
