IT Research Computing is hosting a “Lunch & Learn” session on the subject of HPC Add-ons next Wednesday, November 9, 2016 from 12:30 p.m. until 13:30 p.m. The location is Building 14, R213.
HPC Add-ons are meant to facilitate the access to HPC resources. IT Research Computing has developed and deployed HPC Add-ons for the following applications: MATLAB, VASP, ADF, COMSOL, ParaView, and Materials Studio. Users of these applications are welcome to join us in this Lunch & Learn to learn how to submit jobs to the Noor clusters from within their application GUI. Please register for the “Lunch & Learn” here.
The add-ons are customized interfaces to research applications that automate input data submission, job submission and retrieval of results. With these add-ons, the user submits his jobs to the cluster from within the application GUI on his workstation, and does not have to physically go onto the cluster anymore. This leads to reduced time-to-solution, easier access to the HPC systems, and less time spent on mastering unfamiliar Linux commands.
