Lecture: Creation of a New Robot Era

University Development, in collaboration with the CEMSE Division, invites you to attend a lecture and live demonstration by Tomotaka Takahashi, Research Associate Professor at the University of Tokyo.

Professor Takahashi invents and constructs unique and original humanoids. His lecture will describe the cultural and social background to Japanese robot technology, and introduce emergent robotic capabilities in industry and society.

Prof. Takahashi’s best known works include: Evolta, Ropid, FT, Chroino, and Neon. His robots have taken first prize for five consecutive years at Robo Cup, the international robotics competition, and his Evolta robot holds two Guinness World Records for completing the 24 Hours Le Mans Endurance Challenge and a Grand Canyon climb.
