Launching the KAUST-FEI Center of Excellence

KAUST and FEI, a company that designs, manufactures and supports a broad range of high-performance microscopy workflow solutions, have established a new Center of Excellence in Electron Microscopy located at KAUST. This Center of Excellence is the first implementation of a strategy by KAUST to build long-term partnerships with major instrument suppliers and will serve as a model for future opportunities to provide state-of-the-art research facilities, training and services to KAUST users and collaborators across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The opening ceremony will be held on May 9 and will include the introduction of the Titan Themis Z, the most advanced analytical transmission electron microscope available to date and the first to be installed in the world.

Attend electron microscopy seminars and visualization workshops

As part of the Center of Excellence launch event, we are co-hosting a series of seminars and workshops. The events will be presented by KAUST and FEI scientists and are open to the KAUST research community.

>> AVIZO visualization workshops (May 8): These hands-on workshops will focus on the introductory and advanced use of the AVIZO Visualization Suite, a multi-platform data analysis and visualization tool.

>> Electron microscopy seminars (May 9): These seminars will feature new technical capabilities brought to us with the recent major microscopy upgrades. Also featured are new method development and characterization techniques available for Core Labs users.
