The KAUST Center for Desert Agriculture (CDA), in partnership with the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture (MEWA), invites you to attend the KAUST Workshop for Saudi Food Futures, held in Riyadh on October 22, 2023. The workshop will engage key stakeholders from across the Kingdom’s food system, including agriculture, food value chain, regulators, giga-projects, consumers, agrifoodtech, investors, corporates and academia.Building on the 2022 KAUST Workshop for Sustainable Food Security, the 2023 workshop will focus on the solutions for the sustainable transformation of the Saudi Food System in both the short term and long term.The main objectives of the workshop are to:
- Discuss strategic priorities to achieve sustainable transformation of the Saudi Food System based on the issues and challenges identified in March 2022.
- Deep dive into smart technical solutions to address those challenges.
- Launch a transdisciplinary initiative, the Saudi Food Futures platform, to bring together knowledge, data and innovation.
Achieving sustainable food security in Saudi Arabia by 2030 requires collaboration across disciplines, sectors and borders.
