March 27 to 29
KAUST Conference Center (bldg. 19)
We are pleased to announce the 2017 Water Desalination and Reuse Center KAUST Research Conference: Changing Paradigms of Wastewater Treatment – From Waste to Resource taking place from March 27 to 29. The conference will highlight recent developments in efficient and innovative technologies and microbes to recover resources (water, nutrients, energy) from wastewater in a safe and sustainable fashion.
The program of the meeting will cover the following key topics:
- Energy efficient biotechnologies for nutrient removal from wastewater
- Innovative biotechnologies for recovery of water, energy and nutrients from wastewater
- Harness the potential of microbes for synthesizing high value-added products from carbon dioxide and low-value waste streams
- Characterization of microbes to better harness their potential in energy and nutrient removal
- Safety of reuse water – characterization of emerging contaminants and the role of wastewater treatment processes to reduce contaminants.
