The KAUST Research Conference: New Challenges in Heterogeneous Catalysis will provide an opportunity for up to 40 graduate students and postdoctoral fellows to exhibit their research in front of an international audience through a poster presentation. The best posters will win awards. The winners of the competition will be announced at the close of the conference on January 31.
The objective of the conference is to inspire future heterogeneous catalysis research by bringing together experts in the field from different age groups. We are looking forward to a vivid discussion on the main challenges ahead; these involve not only the design of new processes but also the development of new chemistry and catalytic materials and the understanding of catalytic processes at a higher level.
The focus of the conference will be on the activation of small molecules, and especially methane and carbon dioxide.
