KAUST Mosques and Taraweeh Prayers

As we welcome the blessed month of Ramadan, Campus and Community (C&C) extends our warmest wishes to you and your families. May this holy month bring peace, reflection, and spiritual fulfillment.

Taraweeh prayers at King Abdullah Mosque

Ishaa and Taraweeh prayers will be held at the King Abdullah Mosque, with dedicated prayer areas available for both men and women.

  • Expected start of Taraweeh: Tuesday night, February 17, 2026
  • Location: King Abdullah Mosque

Taraweeh prayers are a special part of Ramadan nights, offering a meaningful opportunity for worship and reflection.

Other KAUST Mosques During Ramadan, all other KAUST mosques will remain open for daily prayers, except for Ishaa and Taraweeh.

Clarification of prayer timings during Ramadan

  • The time between Maghrib and Ishaa Athan will be 2 hours.
  • The time between the Ishaa Athan and Iqama will be 5 minutes.
  • Ishaa and Taraweeh prayers will take approximately 60 minutes.

Important reminder for Taraweeh attendees

We kindly ask that you consider the tranquility and serenity of the Taraweeh prayers. For the comfort of all, we request refraining from bringing young children who are unable to participate in the prayer, ensuring that everyone can focus and experience this blessed time in peace.

Ramadan activities for families with young children

Families with younger children are encouraged to explore Harbor Library’s kids’ Ramadan activity programs, available daily from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. These programs provide a welcoming and engaging space for children during Taraweeh hours.

Call for mosque volunteers

As we prepare for Ramadan, we warmly invite community members to volunteer in supporting mosque activities throughout the holy month.

Volunteers play an important role in helping:

  • Maintain a welcoming and organized mosque environment
  • Support worshippers during busy prayer times
  • Ensure smooth flow during Taraweeh prayers

If you would like to give back and support the spiritual life of the KAUST community, we encourage you to register as a mosque volunteer.

Live Athan Broadcast on KAUSTCentral App

We are pleased to remind you that the KAUST community can now listen to the live broadcast of the call to prayer (Athan) from the King Abdullah Grand Mosque directly on their phones.

This feature is available through the Mosques section of the KAUSTCentral app, helping you stay informed of prayer times accurately and conveniently.

Thank you for your cooperation and care in helping create a peaceful and uplifting Ramadan experience for everyone.

Wishing you a reflective and blessed Ramadan.
