Some of the world’s most eminent experts on marine megafauna will attend the KAUST Marine Megafauna Movement Workshop on Monday, October 19 and Tuesday, October 20. The workshop will be the center effort of the FEP 2015 program.
The objective of this workshop is to unveil emergent properties of the collective behavior of marine megafauna in the ocean through the use of new analytical and visualization tools, rooted in the field of human mobility, and to guide the development of new sensors to use marine megafauna to monitor ocean state for human applications.
The development of this new sensor technology and the health and vitality of the world’s oceans will also be discussed. Along with the challenges faced in extracting useful information and data to further our understanding on how marine megafauna use the ocean environment on a global scale.
