KAUST Health is currently upgrading its CT Scan equipment with a brand-new unit to provide an enhanced and improved diagnostic imaging experience for our community. This investment supports higher-quality imaging, improved efficiency, and enhanced patient care.
Temporary CT service pause
During the installation and upgrade process, CT scan services at KAUST Health will be temporarily unavailable for approximately 4 to 6 weeks starting February 23, 2026.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to complete this upgrade and restore full service as quickly as possible.
Continued access to diagnostic imaging
Patient care remains our top priority. During this period:
- Referrals to International Medical Center (IMC) and other approved facilities will continue as normal.
- Our team will assist with coordination and appointment bookings.
Service Pathways
To ensure smooth coordination, please follow the appropriate pathway:
- Outpatient (OPD) Referrals: If your doctor orders a CT scan during a clinic visit, our Patient Liaison Officer will manage the process. They will contact you to schedule your appointment at the Main IMC and coordinate logistics. You may also contact the Patient Liaison team via WhatsApp: 051-531-5943
- Emergency (ER) Presentations: For urgent medical concerns, the ER remains fully operational. If a CT scan is required for emergency management, the clinic will facilitate transfer to the Main IMC in line with medical guidelines. In case of an emergency, please call 911 from your KAUST landline or contact 012 8080911 for immediate assistance.
Important guidelines
To ensure emergency resources remain available for critical cases:
- Outpatient CT scans are scheduled appointments and do not require an ER visit.
- Ambulance transfers are reserved for clinical emergencies as determined by the ER physician.
