KAUST enters Global Top 50 in Times Higher Education Impact Ratings

King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) has entered the Global Top 50 of the 2026 Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Ratings for the first time, ranking 48th among more than 1,600 universities from 130 countries and territories.

The ratings recognize institutional contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

KAUST also ranked among the top 25 in Asia and second in Saudi Arabia. The achievement reflects the University’s mission-driven approach to advancing environmental sustainability, social inclusion, economic development, and international collaboration through research, innovation, education, and partnerships.

“Our entry into the Global Top 50 is a testament to KAUST’s commitment to advancing sustainability for the Kingdom and the world,” said KAUST President Sir Edward Byrne AC. “This achievement highlights the impact of our research, education, and partnerships, as well as the dedication and passion of our faculty, students, and staff.”
