With your help, we can all be protected at home and the workplace. You can download the new solution for Mac and Windows home devices to secure them from viruses/malware. Q: What is McAfee Endpoint Security (ENS)?
A: McAfee Endpoint Security is an anti-virus program by McAfee used at KAUST IT to manage the protection of your computers (endpoints) from cyber security threats.
Q: If I already have McAfee home version, why should I migrate to McAfee ENS?
A: There are couple of advantages for installing the new proposed McAfee ENS:
- InfoSec team will be aware and be able to contain any threats emanating from the protected computer.
- As a response to emerging and targeted attacks, InfoSec team will push any required urgent protection content updates and containment rules to your endpoint.
Q: What do I need to manage on McAfee ENS?
A: After download and installation, it is a “worry-free” endpoint protection solution. You do not need to manage anything.
- InfoSec team will ensure that regular daily updates are happening.
- InfoSec team will take care of any required upgrades on the McAfee agent and McAfee Security engines as McAfee releases them.
- The renewal process of ENS is transparent to the user and does not require any uninstallation and reinstallation as is the case now.
Q: Will I be able to uninstall McAfee ENS?
A: Yes. A user can uninstall McAfee ENS at any time.
Q: What happens when I leave KAUST?
A: When you leave KAUST and take your personal computer with you, your computer will remain protected getting daily updates from McAfee over the Internet until McAfee decides to discontinue this version of the program after which you have to purchase your own version.
