Gergean is a traditional celebration common to the Gulf Region and the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia and takes place mid-Ramadan. Children dress in traditional costumes and go door-to-door singing traditional songs and collecting candy, nuts and other goodies from neighbors in decorated cloth bags.
Our event will take place tonight, June 8 at 8:00 p.m. in Discovery Square. Cloth bags and candy will be given to children at the Community Hub.
Everyone is welcome! Come dressed in traditional Saudi costume or traditional dress from your home country.

Sounds like fun. I’m really excited for my family to be able to experience this holiday for the first time!
in case you’re wondering; Gergean celebrates the middle of the month of Ramadan, you will notice that the moon will be full. Kids go out dressed in beautiful traditional dress and knock and sing at peoples doors, collecting sweets or money. The atmosphere is very magical and peaceful.
It is a traditional annual celebration designed for children in gulf region. In the middle of Ramadan, the childrens are roaming around celebrating, singing a traditional song and gaining sweets. It is funny and enjoyable for them.
Sounds super fun! We’ll be there
