Campus & Community (C&C) is pleased to share an update on the Harbor Parking Project, which continues to expand parking and improve accessibility for our community to the Discovery Square and Harbor Walk areas.
In August 2025, we opened new diagonal parking spaces in front of King Abdullah Grand Mosque as well as introduced a one-way traffic system to streamline access to the Harbor Library and surrounding areas.
We are now pleased to announce the opening of the final set of new parking spaces, located behind Matjar in Discovery Square, southwest of Building 5. This lot provides 18 car spaces and 4 golf cart spaces, offering more convenience for those visiting Harbor Walk, the Harbor Library, shops, and dining.
Parking & safety guidelines
- Use only the designated parking spaces (maximum 1 hour).
- Do not cross the solid yellow line, which separates pedestrians from vehicles.
- All vehicles, including micromobility devices, must follow traffic signs and road markings.
- Always drive slowly and cautiously, watching for pedestrians and children—especially when reversing.
- When entering or exiting, reduce your speed and take extra care when merging onto Unity Boulevard.
These upgrades—spanning both phases of the Harbor Parking Project—are part of C&C’s commitment to enhancing mobility, safety, and community life at KAUST.
