Do elementary school children receive tickets for the draw? If so, do they have to be there to the very end of the festival (to save forfeiting a potential prize) on a school night?
Any potential prize can be claimed by parents on behalf of their dependents (both those with IDs and including minors who do not have IDs). We would like to encourage the whole family to be at the event but understand that children and school kids may need to leave earlier.
Does this also apply to spouses as someone will need to go home with the children?
Hi Andrew, I intentionally kept silent on your inquiry as there are progress on discussions on the mechanics of the raffle. I will let the emcees on stage announce the final and official rule (so as not to contradict myself as well).
Dear Madam/Sir:
I would kindly ask that the live entertainment stops at around 9:00 pm. I live a cross the street and the music will be too loud, please consider people who have babies, kids studying or simply any one who would not like to stay up this late during a work week.
Thank you
What time is the raffle draw scheduled for? As it is a school day for the kids, one of the parents must take them home.
First raffle starts at 7:15PM, while the next raffle starts at 8:55PM. You may check the complete program at the link on the announcement or by tuning it at KAUST TV Channel 497, including other promotional announcements.
Thanks.
My suggestion is, starting from next year, this good event MUST be on Thursdays and not in the midweek so everyone can attend and have fun during the weekend. Thanks and hopefully I am the car winner this year 😉
I agree, but suggest Wednesday rather than Thursday.
You can’t win the car as I’m going to 🙂
Hey Andy – To me, Wednesday is fine, but don’t forget that it is a business day. People will leave their offices after 1700 tired and they need time to relax. I think Thursdays would be the best days for such social & long events. Everyone should be active and in a good mood on Thursdays, as 95% of KAUSTees are not working on Thursdays. Again, the car is mine…sorry Andy 🙂
Hi
i work with one of your service provider in KAUST with valid ID, is it allowed to bring my family to the festival.
Everyone is invited. “Flavors” however can not provide assistance on visitors’ access permit, this should be arranged by the KAUST ID holder himself/herself. Perhaps you can consult your proponent organization.
Please provide access for wheelchairs and baby strollers
I am unsure why this event needs to be in the middle of the week. Is there a good reason? I am requesting Seve to reply. Thanks.
Old timers here can agree that in the past, similar events (including Jeddah IOB days), were usually held on a Tuesday to ensure that our colleagues who need to travel back to their home cities on Wednesday (e.g. Aramco secondees) can grace the event. I am not sure if this is still valid today, but I am sure we still have community members who leave the campus during weekend, thus the Tuesday event. We appreciate the feedback from the Community and would evaluate this on future events. Thank you.
Please next year use the stadium as being woken at midnight last night by practice music was not appreciated. The harbor clb oval is too small for this event. Yes. Week end too please starting earlier and finish earlier
All comments and feedback are duly noted. Thank you.
Congrats to the organizers for a successful event! This year’s Flavors was very well organized and executed. The live music was a real treat. Thanks to the staff and volunteers for all your hard work…it really paid off!
