As part of its ongoing efforts to improve services, KAUST IT is beginning the process of phasing out Ubuntu-16 as the Vendor shall no longer be providing security patches for the operating system. The Ubuntu-16 scientific application stack will be discontinued on Thursday, May 27, 2021.
If you do not upgrade by that time to the latest operating system, Ubuntu-18, then you cannot continue to use the modules provided by the scientific application stack.
Please request an upgrade of your system’s operating system to the latest KAUST-Ubuntu operating system by sending an email to IT Service Desk.
