Earth Hour event schedule and activities
From 8:00 – 9:30 p.m. there will be a Community Celebration at Al-Marsa Walk. From 8:30 – 9:30 p.m, non-essential lights across the campus and community will dim or completely darken (without compromising safety).
Unplugged music
- Angklung Ensemble, KAUST community members playing a variety of musical genres using the traditional Indonesian bamboo Angklung.
- A truly inspirational ‘surprise’ by some small KAUST community members.
- Drumming circle – your opportunity to join in.
- Pianist Rauuan Saleh.
Children story telling
- ‘The Great Kapok Tree’ presented by Chris Cassell, TKS school teacher.
Stargazing
- Presented by the Graduate Student Council Amateur Astronomy Association. Observe our beautiful sky and raise awareness of light pollution that disrupts the beauty of the night sky.
Plus children’s face painting and surprises.
