What is Design Thinking?

This short video explains design thinking as “a way to solve problems through creativity”.

Why teach Design Thinking to kids?

Schools are recognizing the importance of teaching Design Thinking techniques to kids as they can develop skills such as:
·      Creative problem solving
·      Innovative thinking
·      Entrepreneurial mindset
·      Empathy and a holistic perspective for analyzing things, situations, and problems
·      Analytical and spatial thinking
·      Growth mindset

Design Thinking camp at KAUST

Target group

Kids aged 12-15 years

Day and time

Sunday to Thursday, 5:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Dates

Week 1: August 1-5
Week 2: August 8-12
Week 3: August 15-19

Cost

250 SAR per child for one week

Day 2: define and empathize
Day 3: ideate
Day 4: prototype
Day 5: final presentations and wrap-up
